From the Guernsey Inflation Bulletin June 2026
- The “all items” RPI inflation was 4.3% over the year ending June 2026; 0.4 percentage points higher than it was over the year ending in June 2025 and 0.3 points higher than it was over the year ending in March 2026.
- Inflation over the year ending in June 2026, as measured using the RPIX (“core” inflation excluding mortgage interest payments), was also 4.3%.
- “Underlying” inflation, can be measured using the RPICT (inflation excluding mortgage interest payments and assuming constant taxes) or the RPIY (inflation excluding mortgage interest payments and indirect taxes); RPICT increased by 4.1% and RPIY increased by 4.2% over the year ending in June 2026.
- Within the RPI, the groups of goods and services that increased the most in price over the year ending in June 2026 were: the Fuel and Light group (which increased by 19.0%), the Tobacco group (which increased by 11.7%, mainly due to new excise rates) and the Catering group (increased by 6.3%).
- The HCIs, which are all “all items” indices (intended to enable comparison of inflation rates experienced by households in different circumstances), increased by between 4.0% and 5.2% over the year ending in June 2026.
